Lead capture

Mortgage calculator lead capture that keeps the borrower's numbers

The best time to ask for contact details is the second a borrower sees their own payment.

Free plan, no card. Paid plans include a 14-day trial.

Key takeaways

  1. The lead form lives inside the calculator, not on a separate contact page.
  2. Each lead stores every input the borrower entered and every result they saw.
  3. Returning borrowers are matched by email, then phone, and their history grows.
  4. Lead capture, the CRM and email alerts are included on the free Originator plan.

PrequalFunnel puts a Get a Quote or Contact form inside each calculator, right where the borrower sees their result. Every submission is saved as a contact with name, email or phone, consent, every input and result, the page URL and the traffic source, and you get an email alert within moments of the submission.

Why capture the lead inside the calculator?

Because that is where intent peaks. A borrower who just typed in a purchase price, a down payment and their monthly debts has told you more than most contact forms ever ask, and they are looking at a number they care about. Sending them to a separate contact page at that moment loses most of them.

PrequalFunnel keeps the ask in context. Under the result, the borrower sees a short form: name, email or phone, and a consent checkbox you write. One tap and they are done. They stay on your page, and you get a lead that already explains itself.

The form is part of the calculator in every embed mode, so it behaves the same inline on a WordPress page, in a popup on a HighLevel funnel, or behind your own button. Borrowers can also share the calculation with a friend or print it, which keeps your brand in front of co-borrowers and family who weigh in on the decision.

What does a captured lead contain?

More than a name and a phone number. Here is what is saved with each submission.

Inputs and results vary by calculator; the lead keeps whatever that calculator asked and showed.
DataWhat it includesWhy it matters on the first call
Contact detailsName, email and/or phoneHow you reach the borrower, in the channel they chose
ConsentThe consent the borrower gave on your formA record that supports compliant calling and texting
InputsEvery field they entered: price, down payment, income, debts, rate, termYou know the scenario before you dial
ResultsEvery result they saw: payment, PITI, DTI, cash to closeYou know what number shaped their expectations
Page URLThe exact page the calculator was onTells you which page or funnel step is converting
Traffic sourceUTM tags, ad click IDs, referrer, landing pageTells you which campaign or post produced the lead

What happens from form submit to follow-up?

Five things happen in order, and none of them depends on your integrations working.

  1. Borrower submits

They fill in name, email or phone and consent under their result, and see a success message without leaving the page.

  2. Contact is saved

The lead is stored in your built-in CRM. If the email, then the phone, matches an existing contact, the new calculation is appended to that borrower's history instead of creating a duplicate.

  3. You get an alert

An email alert reaches you for each new lead, so a lead from 9:40 p.m. is not discovered at 10 a.m. the next day.

  4. Lead is delivered (paid plans)

On Producer and Brokerage, the lead is also POSTed as JSON to your mortgage lead webhook: HighLevel, Zapier, Make or any URL.

  5. You follow up with context

Call or text with the borrower's own scenario in front of you, within the consent they gave.

What can you control about the lead form?

The form is yours to word and style; the data it captures stays consistent so your follow-up does too.

Every label and button

Rewrite the heading, field labels, button text and success message for every calculator, in your own voice.

Your consent language

Write the consent text your compliance team approves, including who may contact the borrower and how. See TCPA consent.

Brand and theme

The form follows the calculator's theme, palette and font, so it never looks bolted on. See calculator themes.

Language

The form switches language with the calculator, in all six languages, so Spanish-speaking and other non-English borrowers are not dropped at the last step.

Where leads go

Use one account-wide webhook, or route a specific calculator's leads to a different workflow, such as FHA leads to your first-time buyer team.

Watch your plan's contact limit

Each plan stores a set number of contacts: 100 on Originator, 10,000 on Producer and Unlimited on Brokerage. If an account is over its limit, new leads are not stored, the borrower still sees a success message, and the account owner gets a notice at most once a day. If your funnel is producing, upgrade before you reach the cap rather than after.

Questions loan officers ask

Where does the lead form appear in the calculator?

Inside the calculator, alongside the borrower's results, as a Get a Quote or Contact form. It is part of the calculator itself, so it appears in every embed mode: inline on a page, in a popup, in a floating bubble or inside a multi-calculator widget.

Do I get the borrower's inputs and results, or just their contact info?

Both. Each lead stores every input the borrower entered and every result they saw, plus consent, the page URL and the traffic source. You see the whole scenario on the contact record and, on paid plans, in the webhook payload.

What happens when the same borrower submits twice?

Contacts are de-duplicated by email first, then phone. A returning borrower's new calculation is appended to their existing history, so you see that they moved from a $380,000 scenario to a $420,000 one instead of getting two unrelated leads.

Can I change the wording of the form and the consent checkbox?

Yes. Every label, heading, button and message can be rewritten per calculator, including the consent text. Have your compliance team or counsel approve the consent language, since you are responsible for it on your own site.

How quickly will I know about a new lead?

You receive an email alert for each new lead as it is saved. On Producer and Brokerage you can also push the lead to HighLevel, Zapier or Make so a text, task or call workflow starts immediately.

Is lead capture available on the free plan?

Yes. Originator includes the lead form, the built-in CRM and email alerts on 5 calculators, with up to 100 contacts. Sending leads to webhooks needs Producer or Brokerage.

Do I lose leads if my HighLevel webhook is down?

No. The lead is saved in your PrequalFunnel CRM before anything is sent onward, and the email alert still goes out. A webhook failure never loses the lead; fix the connection and follow up from the CRM in the meantime.

Does capturing a lead mean the borrower is pre-qualified?

No. The lead tells you what the borrower entered and what estimate they saw. A pre-qualification is your informal review of what they tell you; a pre-approval needs documentation and credit. The lead simply gives that conversation a head start.

Can I see which ad or page produced each lead?

Yes. Each lead carries the page URL and attribution: UTM tags, ad click IDs such as gclid and fbclid, the referrer and the landing page. The details are on the lead attribution page.
